Getting Started
When first opening the box, you’ll quickly find that it includes all the basic necessities needed to
get going. The packaging includes a USB transmitter with docking station (to be plugged in directly to
your computer), a USB receiver (Connects to either your home stereo or powered multimedia speakers), a
remote control (to control your music from your listening room), and software to control your music player
of choice. Also included are very handy installation instructions with pictures to help you get set up in
no time at all. On Logitech’s website they list four steps to get up and running. They include:
1)
Plug the USB music transmitter into a USB port
on your PC.
2)
Connect the music receiver to your stereo
system.
3)
From your PC, open your favorite playlist and
press “Play”.
4)
Sit back, relax and enjoy your music!
It truly was as simple as that. I found that even without installing the “Music Anywhere” software
that is used to control your favorite music player, it was able to stream the music to my living room
stereo where the receiver was installed. Without the included software, controlling the playlist had
to be done directly from the PC. After installing the software, the remote worked and I was able to
move through the playlist with the ease of the remote.

Usability
Usability couldn’t get any better. Logitech has made setup and use of this device extremely straight
forward. The easy setup caters to anyone that wants to avoid the hassle of complicated setup and planning
to share their music collection throughout the house. In my testing, I used both Winamp and Windows Media
Player. The receiver does not care what tool is used to play the music from the computer, it simply
receives the broadcasted stream and plays it through an auxiliary input on your stereo device. This makes
it versatile in being able to accept any audio stream. The only downside to the device is it takes some
planning to arrange your music in playlists so that you don’t have to go back and forth between your pc to
change the music frequently. The remote does not have the ability to do anything more than move forward,
move back, pause, play, and control the volume. For everything else, the pc is required.
The components that make up this complete solution are simple. None have any mechanical moving parts,
so it will be reliable for years to come. Still, with that, Logitech includes a 2 year limited warranty
to cover your investment.
