Microsoft Keyboards and Mice

September 24, 2004

Two pieces of hardware that people often overlook when upgrading are the keyboard and mouse. Most poeple use a basic keyboard and mouse the system they bought came with. You might have even bought one if you built your own system, but it was probaby a basic one to keep your costs down. If you game, you might have at least bought a nice optical mouse to give you better precision in your first person shooting matches. However, most people don't spend the few extra dollars to buy a nice keyboard with extra features to save time and irritation or an optical mouse that feels like more than a piece of plastic in your hand.

Microsoft Corporation as you know does more than operating systems and software. They have ventured into hardware on more than one occasion. Some have been successful ventures. Others have not. One of the first they tackled, successfully at that, was the mouse and keyboard. Most computer users probably have a mouse that says MICROSOFT on it. Some even have your basic keyboard with the same. Over time, Microsoft has added features to both the keyboard and mouse to help users. This includes added functionality, sleeker more stylish looks, and even more comfortable products to use. So let's take a look at a few of these current keyboards and mice from Microsoft Corporation.

Getting Started

Currently there are many options when it comes to keyboards and mice. There are wired and wireless flavors. There are keyboards with different and varying buttons that map to specific functions or folders and the option to map your own. Mice have more than the left and right buttons and scroll wheel. Even now companies are coming out with laser mice that promise to be even more accurate than optical. Today we will focus on 3 keyboards and 3 optical mice.
