If you have an office or home office with multiple PCs, printers, faxes, scanners, label printers, speakers, monitors, and many of the other gadgets and electronic devices we use today, chances are you have these things stacked on shelves or on top of each other and have a difficult time using your desk or these items without having to move things around. If you are like me you need something to better organize all these things so they are right at your fingertips ready to use. Fortunately for us there are companies like Balt that manufacture office furniture that can help.

Getting Started

Balt started out in 1985 making printer stands and has developed a wide offering of computer support furniture. The LAN Station comes in two sizes. Basically 24" and 48" versions. Today we are taking a look at the 24" version. The teak wood and black frame looks great with home decor for any office or home office, but is rugged and sturdy enough to fit into a tech lab or even your server room or closet. Set up is very simple and took me less than half an hour. It actually took me longer to clean out the stacks of towers and boxes and wires to put the LAN Station in place.

Usability

I use the top shelf for a printer, the second shelf has a High Speed PC Tech Station with a test system on it, the keyboard trays beneath both shelves for storage or manuals, documents and thing I need to get at all the time. With the ability to mount the shelves at different heights and the sturdy design, you can use them for about any type of office equipment. The keyboard trays are sturdy and rails are smooth and strong. I would love to have the 48" version in my office if I had space...Really the uses of these LAN Stations are limitless for an office setting where you have fax machines, multi-function unites, PCs, Servers, monitoring equipment, etc. Balt has a wide line of products for very specific needs as well.
